"There is a story, always ahead of you ..."
As a poet who also writes prose, I am perpetually bewitched by the narratives we devise to re-imagine ourselves and the lives of others. Stories made fresh with purpose and mystery.

Poem of the week
My Husband Does Not Lie
Tom is mistaken
confused by his discouragement…
If only he could see La Forest
coming in at dawn
his soaking feet and bloody shirt
a bag of quail for breakfast.
It is ardor it is hope
not laziness but too much life—
a man like this is not a clerk by nature.
I fear he cannot learn it.
See him with his charcoal and his colored chalks bending over paper late at night
another candle we can ill afford.
